August garden highlights

August is the month that brings a lot of garden bounty. I have a small garden but it still gives me picking options for the month. Hydrangeas, roses and dahlias to name a few. Many of our perennials are a feast for the hummingbirds that visit the garden. Here are some of the best in the August garden and for hummingbird action.

Salvia Amistad - my favourite and still going strong

Salvia Black and Blue

Salvia - very pretty, can’t remember the name of this variety

Fuchsia Magellanica - we have it tucked in everywhere for the hummingbirds xx

Monarda Raspberry Wine aka Bee Balm, Bergamot, Oswego Tea

Phlox

Japanese anemone

Roses are having another flush of bloom.

Hydrangeas

Dahlia - Café au lait

Buddleia

A few random captures around the garden.

Lots of summer left. I hope you are enjoying it, whatever you are up to!! xo
