Our light filled living room

I can't believe it is coming up to our five year anniversary in this home.  The home I call my "new" home.  We lived in our previous home for 11 years. I can't believe 5 years in our "new home" has snuck up on us.  Is life moving more quickly???

I love this house!  I hope to never leave it!  The light is magnificent and the energy is divine.  I will do a lot of posts of this darling home and eventually, you will have seen it all.  Let's start with the living room.

I really wanted a light and muted palette for this home. There is so much natural light it just seemed the right thing to do to maximize that light, bright feeling.

We were very lucky to find so many pieces that work with our antique furniture all under one roof.  We were able to acquire the pieces from the Timothy Oulton "store in store" of Luxe Home Design here in Victoria.  We have collected antiques for over 15 years and while a number of pieces were sold along with our larger home, we brought along many key pieces.  I really wanted to go with the light and bright feeling of the home so natural linen furnishings and recycled pine wood pieces really worked.

Such a huge coffee table. It really grounds the room.

I learned to not be afraid of oversized pieces.
