Our cottage in Somerset

We spent the most wonderful week in Somerset in May of this year. We landed on May 6, Coronation Day, around 1:00 p.m. We were settled into our cottage by around 4:30 to heat up some meat pies and chicken curry and cozy up to watch the replay of the coronation and all the goings-on related to it. Somerset is an easy drive from Heathrow. It helps to only have to drive 2 and a bit hours rather than the 5 hours that we usually do to drive up to Yorkshire after landing in London.

Glastonbury Tor from the cottage.

Our cottage was dreamy. I could live there and for one week, I did! Tucked away in the countryside on a very quiet road it sits. I could go on and on with my descriptors but I think these images will give you the idea. It was world class.

After the entryway, with the shower room off of it, you enter a large kitchen diner.

Upstairs are three gorgeous beamed bedrooms, all with the most lovely linens and decor.

What can you say about this bathroom…stunning!

The large beamed living room had comfy couches and chairs and a stunning fireplace (that we used on several nights).

The cottage has a beautiful outlook to storybook countryside and cottage gardens. The birdsong was incredible.

There is so much to see in and around Glastonbury. The abbey, the chalice well, the ancient stones of Stonehenge and Avebury, the beautiful cathedral in Wells, Lacock Abbey and many quaint villages, no matter which way you turn.

We packed a lot (A LOT) into our week in Somerset. I would have been happy just staying at the cottage and puttering in the garden and reading. I really look forward to staying in this beautiful spot on our next trip to the UK. xo
